Booo is a small list. This is what I do with your email address, and what I don't.
Who I am
I'm Roy Quilor. I run Booo through Awwesome Ltd, a company in the UK. Between us we decide what happens to your address, which makes us the controller of it.
To ask me anything about it, .
Awwesome Ltd is registered with the Information Commissioner's Office.
What I keep
Your email address, the time you signed up, and the time you confirmed. Also a random code, which is what makes the confirm and unsubscribe links in your emails work. I don't ask for your name.
Why I have it
You asked to get updates, and you confirmed it from your inbox. That's your consent, and it's the only reason I hold your address.
I write now and then, when I've found something. I don't sell your address, rent it, or hand it to anyone who wants to market to you.
How long
Until you unsubscribe. The link at the bottom of my emails deletes your address from the list straight away. If you sign up and never confirm, I delete your address after 30 days.
Who else touches it
A few services handle your address for me, and only for this. Supabase stores the list. Resend sends the emails. ImprovMX passes your replies to my inbox. Vercel hosts this site. It also checks that a form comes from a person, and counts tries from one connection so a flood can be slowed.
The list itself is stored in Frankfurt, Germany. Resend, Vercel and ImprovMX may handle your address outside the UK and the EU, in the US among other places.
Some companies show a film. Nothing loads from YouTube until you press play. After that, YouTube, which is Google, can see your connection and may store its own cookies.
I count page views with Vercel Analytics. It sets no cookies and does not follow you around.
Your light or dark choice, your Sound setting and whether the menu is open are saved in your own browser, in local storage and one small cookie, and nowhere else. They only remember how you left the page. They don't track you.
If you use the chat
The chat sends what you type to an AI model, so it can be answered. The request goes through Vercel's AI Gateway to Anthropic's Claude, and I've limited it to providers that have agreed not to keep what they're sent. That can happen outside the UK and the EU, in the US among other places.
I don't save your messages, and they aren't linked to an email address or a name. Vercel still sees the connection, to check you're a person and to slow a flood. A refresh starts a blank conversation.
It's an AI answering from my notes, and it can be wrong. Please don't put anything private in it.
Children
Booo is for people aged 18 and over. It isn't made for children, and I don't knowingly collect their details.
If you think a child has subscribed, and I'll delete the address straight away.
Your rights
You can ask what I hold, ask me to correct it or delete it, and tell me to stop writing to you. Unsubscribing does the last two at once. Or just write to me.
If you think I've got something wrong, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK regulator, at ico.org.uk.
